Q: What is "MTS"?

A: "MTS" is the trademark for our "Microneedle Therapy System" - a complete mesotheraputic system that includes several medical and technological breakthroughs in the treatment of scars, various skin conditions, and hair loss.

Q: What is "mesotherapy"?

A: The term itself uses Greek “mesos” and “therapeia” to describe methodology that applies non-surgical medicinal treatment techniques to the ‘middle’ layer of the skin. Mesotherapy describes a range of techniques that may be applied to a wide range of maladies, but in the case of microneedling, the method is cosmetic. The “mesotherapy-effect” of MTS stimulates the skin to produce collagen without removing the top layer of skin. MTS does not inject serums or solutions; it only permits deeper infusion of topical applications (e.g., anti-aging serums) thereby increasing effectiveness.

Q: What is InnoPen?

A: InnoPen is part of a family of "skin-friendly" products based upon the “mesotherapy” concept. InnoPen doesn't burn your skin (IPL/laser), dissolve it (chemical peels), or abrade and scrape it (dermabrasion). InnoPen gently stimulates your skin with 13 very fine “bristles” that encourages natural collagen production. Collagen is what your body produces to keep your skin healthy. The “mesotherapy-effect” also greatly increases penetration of therapeutic topical serums and other applications that contain growth factors, multi-peptides, vitamins, liposomals, herbs, and hair growth formulas (e.g., O2P, Propecia, Minoxidil).

Q: What areas of the body can be treated?

A: InnoPen and MTS Roller can be used on all parts of the body; Face, neck, décolleté, arms, hands, legs, abdomen and back.

Q: Who is a candidate for microneedling?

A: Microneedling can be performed on all types of skin, on all skin colors, and can address a wide range of problems such as acne scars, stretch marks, fine lines and wrinkles. This allows for more versatility than lasers, chemical peels, or other common ablative skin treatments which are sensitive to darker skin types.

Q: What does a treatment feel like?

A: The feeling associated with the microneedling is similar to light sandpaper being moved across the skin. We strongly recommend the use of our Numb Master topical anesthetic prior to each treatment for added comfort. While some areas are more sensitive than others, the speed of the reciprocating needle tip reduces discomfort while the applied treatment solution also makes the treatment more tolerable.

Q: What is the downtime and what side effects should be expected?

A: The total healing time depends on the severity of the damaged skin, the depth of repair process required, and how aggressive the treatment is performed. Most patients have some slight swelling, heat and redness/pinkness (like a mild sunburn) for 2-3 days. Some patients may heal completely in 24 hours.

Q: Do I have to use certain products with InnoPen/MTS Roller?

A: Yes. Clinical Resolution has succeeded in making our entire product line safe to use prior to and following microneedling treatments. The use of products without our special formulations can result in burning, stinging, discomfort, excessive redness and possible infection.

Q: Can makeup be applied immediately following a procedure?

Patients typically can resume their normal makeup regimen 2-3 days following their InnoPen treatment depending on the area and type of treatment performed.

Q: Can you combine microdermabrasion with microneedling?

A: Yes. In fact, microneedling is compatible with most other non-ablative treatment modalities. For instance, some patients may notice scaling on the skin as a result of microneedling in action. To start, it is recommended to use no more than a mild ablative wash to smooth out the scaling. After about the first 6 months when treatments are given ample time to thicken the skin then you may undergo microdermabrasion treatment to help exfoliate. Microdermabrasion will further stimulate collagen production and even out skin texture and tone.

Q: Do you see a difference after one treatment?

A: Yes. Even the first treatment will show some enhancement. Real differences are achieved with a series of at least 4-6 clinical treatments. After the third treatment, in conjunction with weekly personal roller application, a patient will notice significant changes. The full effect is achieved after six months.

Q: What are the contraindications?

A: Microneedling treatments should not be performed on patients with Active Cold Sore (Herpes Simplex Virus) and/or Acne, Keloid Scars or Raised Scarring, History of Eczema, Psoriasis, or other chronic conditions., Presence of Raised Moles, Warts or Raised Lesions on Treatment Area, New Scar Tissue/Wounds.
